LionHeart (b.1987 London, UK)

Duppy Know Who Fi Frighten (Installation)

May, 2025

As part of this seminal installation…

LionHeart has also worked beyond the moving image, distilling moments into suspensions where emotive charge and transformative allure merge.

This is the first time LionHeart’s work exists in a two dimensional medium, requiring an unquestionable quality in his pursuit of emotive richness, working with a master printer in London to meet this desired level of dexterity, LionHeart has created two limited edition photographic prints— Pantheon of Regrets, 2025 is taken from the film Sentient Brutalism (8:59 mins, 2025) and Bias in Bloom, 2025 is a moment captured from Movement of Regrets (2:49 mins, 2025) — each signed, dated and editioned by hand.

The beginning of a new chapter in his output as an artist, to live with those who engage with his practice.

In advance of being released to the general public, the limited edition shall be available to purchase by the invited guests and visitors to Duppy Know Who Fi Frighten at a discounted price (please note that due to the early access and discount being offered, LionHeart shall ask each early purchaser to sign a waiver stating they cannot put their print on resale for a period of 12 months from purchase).

In their debut London installation at Art‘otel Hoxton (UK)

LionHeart presents a selection of moving image work that explicitly explores the perils of people pleasing, perfectionism and our relationship with regret. Producing a series of startling and eerily seductive poetics of language and the body, which continues his practise, creating digital interventions in analogue spaces ‘addressing our fears ability to colonise possibility’ (LionHeart).

An incorporation of influences from architecture, greek columns, manga and society— LionHeart’s personal excavation serves as a societal analysis, an offering for introspective immersion.

Duppy Know Who Fi Frighten exemplifies the agency and accountability of awareness, a meta-cognitive call to action— using poetry, performance and film as a medium for intervention. With Sentient Brutalism (8:59 mins, 2025) and Movement of Regret (2:49 mins, 2025), LionHeart crafts reflections that covertly audit both viewer and society, pulling us into the intimate — and often unsettling labour of transformation.

‘I’m interested in the emotive, in the unparalleled confrontation of our selves with the world… and the architecture that results from this.’ - LionHeart
